The strongest aspect of my work was the values of the pictures. The picture of the no parking sign has white, black and grey. In the second picture the values are more visible and and the image itself is more clear. I could have improved on the picture taking itself. When I took the picture it was blurry so I could have payed more attention to what I was doing when I was taking the picture.
The easy part of this activity was the working with the enlargers even though they were difficult to work with. You had to use the same enlarger with all the test strips and the pictures. You had to wait for the others person to use the enlarger until you could use it. The most difficult part of this project was first developing the film in the bag. It was difficult to get the film out and to time the developing with the different chemicals.
I demonstrated the project's objective by using the different values and by showing that I know how to use a camera. The pictures and the test strips all had white, black and grey. Each photo shows the different values based on the amount of light that was exposed to the photo paper. The test strips all were exposed to light form 2-10 seconds. I chose the one that showed the values best and mad a contact sheet out of it. If I could do this project again I wouldn't do anything differently. All the steps that we had to do from taking the pictures and developing them to picking the best photo and making final prints out of them. We needed to test the light exposures and how much time would allow the values of each photo to show.

Working in the dark room was very difficult because we could not see anything. Without the light, some of the photographs came out weird and some came out good. The strongest technical aspect of my work was the landscape photograph. In the photograph, there are different values of the value scale like white, grey and black. The photograph is also intriguing to the viewer. It appears with a soldier on top of a hill with the ocean and clouds. The soldier was created by the plastic soldier object that I used. It is white and grey because some of the soldier blocked light and other parts did not. I used circular objects to create the hill. Theses solid objects blocked the light on the paper creating the white. The tissue paper was used to create the waves and the clouds. Some light went through them creating the grey value. The rest of the space was to black because it had no objects on it allowing the light to go onto the paper fully. Another thing I liked about my work was how the symmetrical photograph complements the landscape because I used the same objects for each. I could have improved on the positioning of the objects because the tissue paper in the landscape and symmetrical photographs look misplaced. It draws the viewer in, but it looks more like a mistake.
The dark room projects are fun and challenging because it is cool that you can make something by yourself, but it was difficult because you can't see anything and you it is easy to mess up your project. The easy part about this project was the setting up the design of the photograph. It was easy to rearrange objects to create a picture and being creative with the objects you can make with tissue paper and solid objects to create the different values for the picture. The most difficult part of this project was setting up in the dark room. Without being able to see anything and not being abel to turn on the light it was hard to se the enlarger. If someone were to use the enlarger before you and be working on a different project you had to make sure it is set to the setting that you need for your project. You have to check the f stop and the amount of time the light will be on for along with filters. This was difficult to see what you were doing without ruining your, or anyone else's project. Another difficult thing with this project was learning how to use the enlargers, but once you start to do more pictures, the more you understand and learn from your mistakes and how to fix them.
Learning how to use the enlarger was difficult for me because i didn't want to ruin mine or anyone else's projects. I made a couple test strips and photographs with the enlargers. We had to use different objects to create different values. After I created the photographs, I had to develop them. There were many steps to develop the pictures and I had to use many different chemicals. This was easy because all we had to do was put the paper into the chemicals and agitate it for the amount of time at the certain chemical. The bad part about the chemicals were that they smelled and it got all over your hands. Once you were done with the fixer step, you could bring the paper out of the dark room to look at it and see what you did right and wrong. After we would bring it back in and finish the process. I learned how to use the enlarger and the chemicals to create different values for each project. I also learned how to adjust the enlargers for the different projects that we did. If I could do this project again, I wouldn't do anything differently. After each photograph, you need to put it through chemicals. You also need to learn how to adjust the enlargers. Both of these thing taught me a lot and helped me understand how each project we do is different. With this project, I benefited a lot and wouldn't do anything differently because it was something I needed to learn for the class.

The strongest technical aspect of my work was the cutting out the background of my picture. I spent a while on this in order to make the picture accurate without the white marks in the background. I could have worked on the position of the polaroids framing the girl in my picture. I think I could have got part of her leg and parts of her coat. Other than that, I think I have done a good job with the other aspects of the polaroid project.
The easy part of this project was finding a subject picture for the project along with the background images and the color. Another easy part of this project was finding and copying the empty polaroids. A difficult part about this project was figuring out how to do the background. We had to cut out around the entire image and I did mine several times to cut out the hands and feet carefully. I was frustrating and annoying to do along with the other images in the background.
I used the lasso tool multiple times in order to do the background of this project. I used the lasso tool with the subject of the project along with the polaroids to make them clear. I had to do tho with the music notes also to fit the background theme of dance and for it to blend with the pink. If I could change something about this project I would change the three images in the background. It was difficult to find three images that had dance in common and that could easily relate. It would have been easier to just do a background color and image so the project would not be overwhelming and take away form the main subject of the project.

The easy part of this art project was the desaturation of the picture. Once i found the tool, all I had to do was click a few buttons and the picture was all black and white. Another easy part of this project was coloring the leaves in. A difficult part in this project was being careful of coloring in the leaves and not coloring the background. The leaves have many sides and angles so it was hard to get with the different brushes that i used.
I demonstrated the objectives in this art activity by desaturating the image and re-coloring in the leaves to stand out in the picture. If I could do this art project again I would have changed the objective of the project because it was confusing and I think it is something we could have done on our own and not in a project. To me it felt more like a leasing on how to use photoshop and it could have been something we could have done as a class.
The strongest technical aspect of my work was painting of the flower. I lowered the opacity to blend the original color of the flower and the color I painted the flower. the original flower had a shine to it, so with the new color, purple, the shin was still there. I think I could have improved on the blending or shade of the colors i used to paint the flower. I wish I could have made it look less fake even though I did lower the opacity. For example, the yellow in the center if the flower looks fake and painted, even thought the original white flower had a vibrant yellow in the center anyway.
The easy part of this captivity was choosing the photo to paint. I decided to use a white flower to make the color easier to paint over with. The difficult parts were figuring out how to use photoshop and understand the tools. I had a hard time discovering what the different tools did for each aspect of the project. Another difficult thing was painting the flowers center because it did loo fake and not well done even though i put it on a low opacity. The center in the original had a bright yellow and green in the center so i decided to make the center yellow, green and purple to blend and balance the entire image out.
I demonstrated the objective in this art project by using different brushed and blending the colors to create a painting of a purple flower. If I could do this art project again I would not have done anything differently. This is because this was a simple project and it helped me get use to photoshop. It helped me get use to the set-up and discovering the different things you can do with photoshop for this project and others that come along.
